The next day took us deep into the green hills of Akchour. The hike was just the right kind of challenge, with rivers, rocks, and forest guiding the way to the Bridge of God. Day 1: 24 Hours in a City Painted with Peace

Route: Casablanca→ Chefchaoun

Total drive time: 5 Hours (with scenic stops)

► First Stop At: Plaza Uta el-Hammam

An 18th-century public fountain near the Nejjarine Museum, historically essential for locals. Its traditional Moroccan design is a beautiful introduction to Fez’s rich heritage.

► Grand Mosque of Chefchaouen

Built in the 15th century by Moulay Mohammed, son of the town’s founder, this mosque stands out for its unusual octagonal minaret. Non-Muslims can’t enter, but the exterior is a beautiful example of Andalusian-Moroccan architecture.

► Ras El Ma waterfall

Just a short walk from the medina, this natural spring is where mountain water flows into the town. Locals come here to wash clothes and cool off. The sound of water and fresh air offer a peaceful break.

► Spanish Mosque Viewpoint

Built by the Spanish in the 1920s but never used for worship, this hilltop mosque offers panoramic views of Chefchaouen. The 20-minute walk is worth it for sunset over the blue city and surrounding valleys.

► Night Walk in Chefchaouen

In the evening, Chefchaouen transforms. The blue walls glow under the soft lights, and the medina becomes quieter and more magical. It’s a great time for peaceful exploration and night photography.

Day 2 : A Day in the Wild North

Route: Chefchaoun → Akchour → Casablanca

Total drive time: 45 minutes → 5 to 6 Hours (with scenic stops)

Located in Talassemtane National Park, Akchour is a lush valley known for waterfalls and forest trails. The hike follows the river, passing through dramatic gorges and peaceful landscapes.

► Bridge of God

A natural rock arch carved by the river, this geological formation looks like a giant stone bridge. It's a highlight of the Akchour hike and a great photo spot surrounded by cliffs and greenery.

► Afternoon drive back to Casablanca:
